Catholic Youth Leadership Award Recipients

Kaia Bourgeois is named our council’s CYLA female winner and receives her cash award.

Brogan Cormier is named our council’s CYLA male winner and receives his plaque and cash award.

The Louisiana State Council Knights of Columbus established the Catholic Youth Leadership Award in 1959 to recognize high school seniors who served as leaders in their churches, schools and communities.

Today, high school seniors who are practicing Catholics are invited to fill out an online application, and every council chooses one girl and one boy to receive the CYLA distinction.

Membership Director Edward Hymel led the CYLA program for our council.

Kaia Bourgeois and Brogan Cormier were named winners. They each received a $250 scholarship and a plaque and will go on to represent our council at the state level. Congratulations to Kaia and Brogan!
